That pitcher threw a shutout game.  #bumgarneridontlikehimbutmanheisgood.

One of the radio announcers said earlier that this year's World Series would show the characters' of these teams before we were done.  While the Giants threw temper tantrums and yelling matches in their difficult times, the Royals handled their losses with grace and humility.  (And did you see the Giants fans embarrass themselves on national television Friday night?  They did not handle their loss well!)  #boysinblue #classy Our next two games are at the K.  We totally got this.  #believe #takethecrown

People all over the country are rooting for the Royals in the World Series.  (see map below.  There's NO red on it!)

Kansas City Mayor Sly James said this:

I have to believe one reason the Kansas City Royals are so popular is because of their charm. Those guys are hardworking, friendly, classy, edgy, and fun. How could all of that rolled up in a single package not be charming?

The same can be said about our City. I love being the Mayor of Kansas City because we don’t pretend to be something we are not. We are hardworking – not needy. We are friendly – not cold (although our winters would suggest otherwise). We are classy – not pompous. We are edgy – certainly not boring. And we are fun – as evidenced by our propensity to combine good music and good barbeque whenever possible.

   Where:  Washington High School Stadium
   Cost:  $7 per person

By the way, I'm told if the stadium is completely full, they CLOSE THE GATE.  No one else is allowed in.  This has happened before because its a VERY popular event.  Be early!! (or buy tickets in advanced from a H.S.)

Dr. Mitchell mentioned earlier this week how proud he is of a newly created group called M.B.R.A.C.E. (Males Being Real and Consistently Excellent).  It has been in his heart to engage males around stepping up to be what they are called to be.  These gentlemen are committing to excellent conduct, citizenship, academic success, and being accountable partners for other young men.   I'm so proud that three of them are in our Tiger Jazz!!
